Veterinarians
Heather Kreager, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Kreager earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. During those years of undergraduate study, she also spent time working at the Lake Superior Zoo and volunteering with the local humane society and animal shelter. Following graduation, Dr. Kreager continued to develop her skills while working as a technician and receptionist in a small animal clinic before attending veterinary school at the University of Minnesota. Following her graduation in 2007, Dr. Kreager worked for a progressive small animal clinic, where she developed her ability and skills while training under an ABVP board-certified practitioner. Chalco Hills Animal Hospital opened in February 2013. Away from the clinic, Dr. Kreager stays very busy with her two sons, Braden and Ronan, and, of course, the furry four-legged members of the family, four mischievous kitties Zuli, Nova, Kirby, and Maple.

Brittany, LVT
Licensed Veterinary Technician
Brittany grew up in Bellevue, Nebraska. She graduated from the
University of Nebraska Omaha in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in
Psychology. After working a bank job for two years, she realized her
passion was working with animals. Brittany started working part time as
a veterinary assistant on the weekends and enrolled in an online
veterinary technician program.
Brittany graduated from Penn Foster Career College and is now a Licensed
Veterinary Technician. In her free time, she stays busy taking care of
her many plants and spending time with her Shiba Inu, Heidi, and her
cat, Grimm.

Emalie McElfresh
Veterinary Assistant
Emalie grew up in Omaha, NE. She attended Northwest Missouri State University and graduated in May 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science.
Emalie has been working towards getting into vet school for the past few years and was recently accepted in December 2022. She will be attending the 2+2 program with UNL and Iowa State in the fall of 2023, and Bruiser will be going to school with her!
In her free time, she loves spending time with friends, her two childhood dogs, Mazie and Dakota, and taking on DIY home projects!
Sabrena Cantell
Veterinary Assistant
Born and raised in Omaha Nebraska. Graduated 2015 from Gretna High
School. From a young age she has always loved animals and has been
fascinated by animal medicine since she was little. Growing up her
mother worked as a kennel girl moving her way up to Practice Manager
which inspired me to go down a similar path and be a Veterinary
Assistant.
Sabrena has been a Veterinary Assistant Since 2019 slowly gaining
experience and learning new things every day. Seeing animals healthy and
happy makes her world better on a daily basis and getting be apart of
that makes for even a better job.
She can’t wait to meet all your furry kiddos helping the Chalco Doctors
care for your pets
Emmerson
Receptionist
Emmerson grew up in Elkhorn, NE, and moved to Waterloo, NE, in 2018 and finished high school at Douglas County West. She then attended the University of Sioux Falls.
In her free time, she loves hiking with her two English labs, Ethel and Ida, going to concerts, painting, and working with her mom on their boutique.
She is very excited to learn and love on your pets.
