Heather Kreager, DVM

At a very young age, Dr. Heather Kreager knew she wanted to work with animals.  Inspired by her father, who worked as a wildlife manager for the Department of Natural Resources in Northern Minnesota, her dreams were transformed into passion when she decided to pursue her degree in Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Kreager earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Minnesota-Duluth.  During those years of undergraduate study, she also spent time working at the Lake Superior Zoo and volunteering with the local humane society and animal shelter.  Following graduation, Dr. Kreager continued to develop her skills while working as a technician and receptionist in a small animal clinic before attending veterinary school at the University of Minnesota.  Following her graduation in 2007, Dr. Kreager and her husband Aaron decided to leave the snow behind and put their toes in the sand, venturing to South Florida.  Dr. Kreager worked for a progressive small animal clinic where she developed her ability and skills while training under an ABVP board certified practitioner.  After five and a half years of successful practice, she realized it was time to leave the palm trees and sun behind and return home to her roots in the midwest.

After searching for just the right place to settle, Dr. Kreager realized that there truly is no place like home - or, in her case, her husband's hometown.  Chalco Hills Animal Hospital opened in February of 2013.  Away from the clinic Dr. Kreager stays very busy with her two young sons Braden and Ronan and of course the furry four legged members of the family, a little Italian Greyhound named Nurmi, and very spoiled cat named Milo.

Dr. Kreager practices high quality medicine in a way that emphasizes humanity, compassion, and quality-of-life for both pets and their owners.  She has a strong understanding of the importance of good communication and focuses on development of strong client relationships, resulting in the best possible care for the pet.  Dr. Kreager firmly believes that it is both the duty and responsibility of the veterinarian to provide the highest quality care for the animals, while working to educate and care for the needs of the clients as well.  With an incredible respect for the strength and significance of the human-animal bond, Dr. Kreager makes the time to get to know each client and patient individually.

Her professional interests include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, animal wellness and preventative care.  She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Ashley Klauer, LVT

As a child, Ashley surrounded herself with animals.  She grew up in a small town in Illinois and eventually moved to Nebraska as a teenager.  She attended the University of Nebraska- Lincoln and started the pre-veterinary program before deciding that becoming a licensed veterinary technician was the path for her.  She graduated from Vatterott College in October 2008.  Her passion has always been emergency medicine but has to admit that she loves working with people and building lasting relationships.  Ashley enjoys working with and giving back to local animal rescues. Her family consists of an accident prone Boston Terrier, Marley and two black cats, Kipperton James and Paxton Reginauld.

Liz Gregory - Veterinary Assistant

Liz has been passionate about helping animals since she was a toddler.  It all started with her catching toads at her lake house from the time she could walk.  This love for animals has led her to travel to Thailand to work with rescued elephants and sometimes having her own small animal rescue. She grew up in Omaha and attended Skutt Catholic High School.  During high school, she worked at Pets R Us and Petco as a dog food specialist/dog trainer.  She is currently attending UNO and is working towards her Biology degree. Liz joined the CHAH family in September of 2016 and is working as a veterinary assistant.  Her furry family consists of her dog Charlie and her bird Kiwi.

Sammi Baldwin - Veterinary Assistant

Sammi grew up in Omaha and graduated from Bryan high school. Since being a little girl she always had a big heart for animals. She started helping her grandpa with his bee keeping company when she was 10.  After highschool she spent time working with a wild life rescue. Her first job was at Petsmart in the grooming department and this is where she realized she wanted to work in the veterinary field. She started working at a clinic and loved the challenges and excitement of working with animals and their owners.   She considers herself a bit of a “crazy cat lady” with five kitties, the non-furry family members include husband Nick, son Aiden and her daughter Emmber.

LaJaida Even - Groomer

LaJaida grew up in Waverly, Iowa.  Following graduation from Waverly-Shell Rock Senior High, she set out on a new adventure to Omaha, Nebraska.  She attended Bellevue University, where she played volleyball for the Bruins for two years.   After landing a job as a pet stylist at Petco, LaJaida realized that she had a love and passion for animals.  She joined the team at Chalco Hills Animal Hospital in May 2016 and is now working as the hospital’s full time groomer.  Her family currently consists of a rambunctious boxer mix named Nallah, her husband Darren and adorable young daughter Ariya.

Madison Parks - Receptionist

Madison grew up in Lincoln, NE. She is licensed as an Esthetician and Esthetics Instructor, but realized this was not the path she wanted to take for her future. Growing up, she had 2 standard poodles named Monet and Onyx.  Madison wanted to be in the medical field but never knew what path she wanted to take until she met her fiancé and he recognized her love of animals and lead her to realize that was her passion.  She was allergic to cats when she was younger until she adopted one and made herself comfortable with them. She and her fiancé, Brock, now have 3 cats; Leila, Topher, and Chewy.  She has a heart for animals and wants to adopt as many as she can.  Madison is currently our receptionist but is in school to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician.
